Feature photo

Hello dear bloggers, dear compulsive writers... and photographers!

You might've noticed Blog.com evolving quite a bit lately. Firstly our support site at http://support.blog.com, and then the Happy Birthday page and the Faces of Blogs.

Well we thought it just wasn't enough. And since we hadn't had a feature photo in a while, we believed it was time we picked one again. It's tough to choose, believe that! There are such a variety of images, a myriad of styles. You fotobloggers out there sure know how to handle those cameras.

Today, it's two thumbs up to UmEco, who snapped the following pic. Read more on UmEco's blog. Feel free to drop in comments.

World terrorism

The month of July has been particularly violent and we've had our share of bombings. All our thoughts turn to the people of London and Sharm el Sheikh and all those who lost loved ones, friends, and colleagues.
Karim Elsahy, 26, has been trying to find a peaceful breakthrough in what is evolving to be a tense and unstable situation. He's taking part in the organization of a peaceful meeting to protest against violence.  You can find more details on his blog. [http://www.onearabworld.blog.com/]. Anyone can take part in the candlelight sitting that will hopefully attract the world's attention.

Happy Birthday!

Hello to all of you, dear bloggers, keyboard addicts, storytellers, young ones, wise ones!

Who doesn't like a birthday? The cake, the icing, the pink lemonade, and above all the partying? The candles too of course, and friends gathering around the kitchen table.
Well then, Blog.com's got a surprise in store for you!

We've decided to feature birthday blogs at http://blog.com/happybirthday ! Simple URL, it just couldn't be more straightforward. This is where you'll find blogs who've just turned a year old today, yet a new original way to browse blogs.

Cookie and Canada

A Blog.com user emailed us to let us know he'd enjoy having a Feature Blog at Blog.com and since it wasn't the first time we were hearing this request, we decided to start off with yet another good habit today.

And our first feature blog is that of the user himself who emailed us. He signs his posts <=->, and ironizes about astronomers and astrologers. He obviously is a music addict and is an active part of a band. Readers, behold, welcome to http://cookie.blog.com/

On the other hand, our feature snap (see below) goes to Sophie, in her album labeled St Jérôme.  Congratulations !
