Posted on 19. May, 2006 by Sérgio in Uncategorized

Did you write about The DaVinci code yet? No? We can help you! We are introducing our new post helpers, with microformats. Login, click New Post when you get to the dashboard. Now, on the New Post button, you’ll find a new drop-down arrow:

Click on the arrow, and select the type of post you wish to create. For The DaVinci code, select Movie (the book is old news). Fill out the search form with “DaVinci Code”, rate the movie, and click next. Tadaa! New post filled out for you. Just write the review and publish.

If you have not seen the movie yet, it’s no excuse for not blogging. We can even help you talk about the weather!

** Comment removed due to rude, inappropriate wording **

  7. Bistromath Captain 22 May 2006 at 7:58 pm #

    Rebel,

This was a temporary effect of the date format switch, while servers updated. Your blog should be back to normal. If not, please contact http://support.blog.com/

    To administrators of blog.com:
You really need to improve your blog services, but first, you need to improve your customer service attitude.

Here are some facts which I believe you have a difficult time accepting:

1- I have never left a rude comment on any Website. So, removing a customer’s comments so you don’t like it is the biggest NO NO in e-business !

2- Secondly, even though you LOST all my pictures on my blog, there is still ONE support person YET to acknowledge this fact.

3- Finally, after what I have experienced with your services and lack of support, I found the blog.com as one of the WORST blog services available on the INTERNET !

You can go ahead and remove this post as well if you wish !

Or, you can face the facts and get back to work solving your customer’s problems.

I wish you good luck in your e-business. You really need it.

    Suleyman.

thank You ;) btw, one more question :) can I switch on my blog different template, chosen by me? there are many on Yours site, but I wanted to use another one. know, many sites offer uncountable number of templates, but here when i look in manage/design or somehow I can find only about 40. thx in advance :)

  10. Bistromath Captain 23 May 2006 at 10:02 am #

    Suleyman,

We are extremely open when it regards critic comments on this blog. You’ll notice we did not remove your first comment. Your first comment borders on the line of gratuitous insult, whereas the second one clearly crossed that line. It is our responsability keeping an educated discussion level here, and while removing comments is a last resort, in cases like these we will always do so. Authors are welcome to repost the comment in correct terms.

I’ve checked with the support team. Your tickets were handled by Scott Campbell who did explain to you that you had exceeded your monthly transfer limit. The ticket response is extremely clear, explains what our limits are, pointing you to your usage levels page and to our plan description page.

I do not understand your ire. However, I know it’s natural that after being angry, you will not concede in your position. I’m really sorry for what happened. We will be adding better notifications of bandwidth usage, so that these misunderstandings don’t happen further.

    Sincerely,

  11. Suleyman 23 May 2006 at 1:01 pm #

All my pictures WIPED OUT by your team including the ones in 2005 - proof is my blog’s current state !
I’m including Scott’s answers below so that ALL YOUR USERS are aware of WHAT CAN HAPPEN to their BLOGS !

For the ticket, Scott FIRST gave me the following explanation and CLOSED my ticket:
    ————
We have confirmed the loss of some uploads during the DNS transfer time, during the first few hours of service in the new datacenter. Unfortunately, we have no means of recovering these, as they were never backed up.
    ————

After I explained that ALL MY PICTURES were GONE, he looked into this AGAIN. And then, HE SUGGESTED that I DELETED MY OWN pictures - see below:

    ————
This is a different problem, then. I’ve checked your account, and you have no albums whatsoever in there. Did you delete the albums?
    ————

FINALLY, someone else told me the reason was that I exceed my xfer limits for May 2006.

Which still DOESNOT explain, why ALL my pictures were WIPED OUT if I only exceeded the monthly limit for May 2006? Your blog also shows that I’m ONLY using 29% of my image storage ….

Apparently you spend a lot of time trying to JUDGE users comments instead you should be SPENDING YOUR TIME addressing your SW issues.

I will NOT WASTE any more time on your blog.

I gave up on you & your team the DAY YOU LOST ALL MY PICTURES!

    Suleyman.

    Dear Suleyman,

1 - The first responses from our support team were wrong and like Jeff told you also in the support you exceeded the transfer limit for the month of May. Please note, *not* the storage limit but, the bandwidth limit (for further clarification please check: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandwith#Web_Hosting).

2 - That said, please note that we *didn’t* lose your pictures. You just can’t see them because you are over your account limit for this month.

If you have any more questions regarding these issues please use our support service at: http://support.blog.com. Also, please take a few minutes to review our offer at: http://blog.com/pricing/

    Regards.

When I tried out the New Posts tab you mentioned on my site, it displays behind the New Post Page instead of on top of it so I can only see two items on the list. In every page I tried it on, it displays behind the page I’m on or is partially hidden. Could be a cool item when you get the kinks out.

    Dear Zii,
Thanks for your answer. I`ve tried to do so, but the problem is that
every time I tried the screen pops this message: INVALID USERNAME
OR PASSWORD . As i said: ” it seems like the server did not recoignize
my e-mail or my password either “.
PD: I left MODZILLA behind and try to sign in trough OPERA . Finally,
I get into my blog and post a note but could not attached any images,
change the font style / size or edit my post, past comments or anything else!
Once again, I really appreciate some help !

how to make a music that you can hear when you see my blog?

  23. Michael Corbin 9 July 2006 at 2:58 pm #

I am a photographer with many years of experience, but I made the big switch to digital less than a year ago, and I went looking for gallery space on the internet. I am also brand new to computers and while websearching I found out anout photoblogs and artblogs. I could really use some help on this one to improve my work and I’m new to photoshop too. So far it’s been trial and error and following the prompts, as you know one site leads to another. How do I get readers to look at my narrated slide shows? And how do I do this to make a living?
