Translation Saga

Blog.com is changing! Having started by only supporting English, we have now adopted the mission to support any language that our users ask for.

And that means ANY! Be it Assamese, Icelandic or Zulu.
Be it Sanskrit, classical Latin or Silvan Elvish :-)
Be it a language spoken by millions or by thousands.

If you want to join in on this saga, please comment below or drop a line at translations@blog.com to let us know the language of your choice. You can contribute with as little as 15 minutes of your time or sponsor the whole translation of a language (about 4500 words or up to 8 hours of translation time).

Special thanks to the following saga companions for their most generous contribution:

A sneak preview at Blog.com's local flavo(u)rs

Ladies and gentlemen,

As we've recently written, we are glad to inform you we're making extra efforts to offer you a localized blogging experience! The bottom line is that from now on,
  • you'll experience blog.com in the language of your choice, and
  • to make things just a bit spicier, the designers at blog.com chose to play around with national stereotypes to bring you a funny look on today's nations.
What does it mean? Well, in lieu of having the usual language / country icons, you'll have small men (minimen, happy bloggers from around the world) reflecting their very own customs. From the British and their gentlemanlike umbrellas to the Olympic Greeks with their white, blue-lined togas...

Just to make your mouths water, here's a sneak preview of the Italian profile... with a pizza, need we mention it?
Italian pizza for lunch?

In the news!

Just a short note to congratulate bloggers who have been referenced by traditional media:
Another blog that has been referenced quite intensively in the news is rconversation.blog.com. Allow me to correct news sources all over the world that have reported that blog as having suffered political censorship. Not true!

Beijing-based media researcher Zhao Jing's blog was in fact deleted but his blog was not hosted at Blog.com but at MSN Spaces as he himself stated "MSN Spaces (has) now deleted all of my articles and I have no backup and I'm very angry."
