Blog.com and Google Analytics

Posted on 07. Sep, 2009 by RJS in Themes

Blog.com now supports integration with Google Analytics for our users to track their blog stats.

Whilst we’re developing an own plugin, that will show the blog stats on your dashboard, as well as the possibility to add statistics widgets to your sidebar, Blog.com is giving you the chance to add your Google Analytics tracker to your blog and so have a way to check out how your blog is doing.

Simply go to “Settings”->”Google Analytics” and insert your Tracking Code (UA-XXXXX-X).

What’s Google Analytics? How do I set this up?

Google Analytics is the free stats tracking system supplied by Google and produces very attractive (and comprehensive) stats.

To get going, just sign up for Analytics, set up a new account and copy the tracking code you receive (it’ll start with ‘UA-’) into the Blog.com settings. It can take several hours before you see any stats.

For more information on finding the tracking code, please visit this Google help site.

Goggle Analytics provides a HTML tracking code block that states that we need to post it before tag. Are we suppose to do anything with that code block or just save the ‘UA-’ code?

    Thanks!

When will we be able to edit our themes? None of the themes on here seem to display my blog right…the sidebars all display at the bottom of my page, and I’d like to create my own. THAT is definitely an upgrade I’d subscribe to…

I am trying to use google webmaster tools and cannot find how to insert the code into my blog. I cannot find a source to view the code at all. I would also like to be able to tweek the design on my blog, and cannot do this. Where can i see my blog control panel so I can make these changes?

Also I cannot get into support and help to rean anything about the knowledge base for frequently asked questions.

    Hello blog.com staff!
I was wondering if it could be possible for there to be a search bar? Or some sort of list or something of blogs that are on blog.com
I would love to know other users, and to really get my blog out to the world.
It would be very much appreciated if this could be looked into!
    Thanks!!

Is there a way in Google analytics to see the origin of each individual user. I have conversion tracking supposedly set up correctly but it has never worked for me and I am assuming that would be one way.
