Theme customization

Hello bloggers!

After many requests from you, and as promised, Blog.com is now starting to provide more theme customization options. If you choose the theme “Vigilance” (the default one), and go to “Theme Options” you can now upload your own header image, as well as change the colors of some of your blog’s elements.

This is just the first step, we will be introducing more customization to the existing themes, as well as releasing more great themes soon.

We are working hard on expanding this area as we know it’s of the utmost importance to you!

    Since the migration in August, 2009, I am really missing the customization that was available in the old format. My blog is completely customized and I’m so thankful that it all made it through the migration, but now I have someone doing a new custom theme for me and we can’t access the code in order to upload it. Also, I can’t access the code in my present theme to save it or tweak it. It would be wonderful if a fully customizable theme were available to those who want to/know how to create from scratch. Something similar to the old format before the wordpress migration. The themes available are wonderful. It would be even better if, in addition to those, you had something for those of us who like to create. Thanks for all the hard work you do! I’ve been with blog.com since 2006 and it has been a great experience.

    really really really…. looking forward for feature that would allow us to upload themes and not just to used the limited themes… no offence, i love your themes guys, but… it’s just too few to express and represent the blog itself.
    i hope it brings inspiration to you guys to improve blog.com
    beside this, i am loving each features that you have.

    I need more theme with larger header. My photo all spoiled because of the resize of the theme.

    I just started using blog.com and I’m happy to see you’re continuing to improve your offering. Anxious to see more new themes with even greater flexibility. Custom CSS would be great!

    Excellent! A first step is about right, but I’m still waiting for the ability to create my own themes. As so many of the themes that are available, may look pretty but lack the correct formatting. For example there is one that put all link to gether rather than splits them by category and there is nothing i can do to change that, yet it is one of the few themes that i find visually appealing. My apologies for forgetting the name of the theme.

    Full Customization would be better!
    People that are beginners can still use default Themes and professionals don’t get limite din their creativity!

    Your dedication on improving and making blog.com competitive is commendable. Dont forget to make the blog user friendly. Many customizations are not working properly. When I am trying to drag the box/icon and put it in another place I am unable to do, the box is returning to its original place.

    Kindly put some extra efforts in making it user friendly as it was earlier.

    This has been so difficult for me. I am ashamed to have my blog on a resume now that all my customizations were lost in the platform migration. I am really impatient– but looking forward– to the time when I can fully customize again. Don’t forget us!
