1 day left to the end of 2011. We got to tell you fellas, this has been an exceptional year for Blog.com. We’ve been knocking the edges off our platform, implementing various new features, launching +30 dazzling themes, adding three killing new products to our store and – this year’s best achievement – redesigning Blog.com’s dashboard into a creamy, cosy place for you to have the blog you dream of.
And the results are inescapable – this year we had +150 outstanding blogs featured on our homepage and we’re sure that there are a lot more Blog.com blogs out there worth following, reading and mention in 2012.
For now, we want to pay tribute to the best blogs of 2011, so we present you [drum roll] The 1st Annual Blog.com Awards.
Process:
- The nominees were chosen by Blog.com’s Team among the featured blogs of this year;
- There are 5 nominees for each category (stated in the polls below);
- There’ll be one winner per category;
- The winner of each category will enter a second ballot for the Blog.com’s Team choice of Best Blog of 2011;
- Polls will be open till January 15th – 24h00 GMT;
- Winners will be announced on January 16th;
- All nominees will have their blog featured in an Awards page on Blog.com all year of 2012 and a nominee badge;
- The winner of each category will get all 6 premium features on our store (10 GB Storage, Blog on Your Domain, Custom CSS, Custom Ads, Premium Themes & Unlimited Blog Authors) and a winner badge;
- The staff’s pick for Best Blog will get a super cool badge, stating the blog is the most astounding, breathtaking, mind-blowing, stupendous blog of 2011!

i love the award system cause it gives appreciation to the bloggers who have been working hard to maintain their blogs.
i just wish there would be a guideline or a set of criteria somewhere to enlighten other bloggers on how to be featured. i assumed it’s the layout that counts the most? anyone have any idea?
